World-class Tour
Agribusiness students in the second year of their program recently travelled to Rocanville, SK to tour PotashCorp (PCS Mine).

The tour provided the students with an opportunity to see where potash comes from and how it’s processed. Instructors of the Agribusiness program having been taking students on this field trip for a number of years as it relates to a number of different courses, primarily Soil Fertility.

“PotashCorp is in the farm supply business, they produce the three primary crop nutrients – potash, phosphate and nitrogen. This is the world’s largest fertilizer company by capacity,” said Terry Powell, Agribusiness Instructor.

Taking Learning to the Warehouse

Students took the knowledge they learned in class and put it to use in the warehouse. After completing a pre-shift inspection and operational check, they took turns maneuvering a forklift through an obstacle course.

Hands-on experience is a valuable component of the Agribusiness program.
