What is Spend a Day?
The Spend a Day program is a great way to "test drive" a program at ACC. It will give you an in depth look at college life and classes in the program you're interested in. When you register for a Spend a day, we will partner you with a current student in the program of your choice and you will have the opportunity to:
- PARTICIPATE in classroom activities - lectures, labs and other hands-on learning experiences
- FAMILIARIZE yourself with college life
- EXPLORE all of the helpful services that ACC offers
- MEET the knowledgeable and caring instructors
- DISCOVER the many career opportunities available.
When can I Spend a Day?
The Spend a Day program runs from November to March for most programs. We ask you to choose a day that works best for you and we will try to accommodate your request, based on what is happening in the classroom. We ask for two weeks notice to be able to coordinate your Spend a Day.
What will my Spend a Day be like?
You will arrive at ACC at the designated meeting place, where you will meet up with your student host. We will provide you with a parking spot at the college for the entire day if you need one. You will attend classes with your student host and will take part in classroom activities and discussions.
We will provide you and your student host with a lunch at the college’s cafeteria. After you attend afternoon classes your student host will take you to Student Services, where you will meet with a student advisor, if requested.
How much does it cost to Spend a Day?
Absolutely nothing! Parking is free and we will provide lunch for you and your student host.
How do I register for a Spend a Day?
You can register by calling 800.862.6307 ext 6689 or emailing spendaday@assiniboine.net.
In your email, please tell us:
- The program you want to Spend a Day in
- Your phone number and email address
- Your mailing address
- Your preferred date (two weeks' notice please)
- The best time of day to contact you
How do I prepare for my Spend a Day?
We recommend reviewing a set of helpful questions to get you thinking about what you want to get out of your Spend a Day. Think about any questions of your own that you may have and bring them with you to your Spend a Day.

What if I need to cancel my Spend a Day?
If for any reason you are unable to attend your scheduled Spend a Day, please contact the recruitment office at 800.862.6307 ext 6689 or email spendaday@assiniboine.net as soon as possible. Several offices will need to be notified if you are unable to attend your arranged Spend a Day.
