On Friday February 10th second-year students from our Agribusiness Program participated in the Farm Credit Canada Business Planning Awards. The students were required to prepare a business plan for an agriculture focused business which was then presented to a panel of judges in the agricultural industry. The 2011-2012 finalists are:

Brandon Salutes Announces Donation to Project Hero Scholarships

The Manitoba division of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) has donated $500 to each of the Project Hero scholarships at Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College.  The monies were presented to the post-secondary institutions today.

The Manitoba AIA holds an annual golf tournament to raise funds to support various causes. In September of 2011 the AIA held its’ annual golf tournament in Winnipeg raising the aforementioned amount.

ACC expands services to students in Dauphin

ACC is pleased to announce the opening of the Learning Curve and Cultural Centre at the Parkland Campus in Dauphin.

The purpose of the centre is to provide current students at the Parkland Campus with a comfortable place to study and access to various academic tools to enhance their learning experience. Students will be able to meet with tutors, study in groups, access computer equipment and use assistive technology for academic tasks.

The Alumni Association is proud to present the first-ever "ACC Alumni Wheat King Chill" on Friday, February 10th at the Keystone Centre. Practical Nursing Rural Rotating Sites Announced

Assiniboine Community College (ACC) is pleased to announce that Portage la Prairie will once again be the host community for one of the college’s practical nursing rural rotating sites. The town of Glenboro will host the second location for the first time.

The decision was made after careful consideration, assessment and consultation with the Central Region Health Authority and the Assiniboine Regional Health Authority.

Four students from the Culinary Arts program competed for a cash prize of $1000 in this year’s Manitoba Canola Growers Black Box Competition on January 16, 2012 at the Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts at ACC's North Hill Campus.

Interested in agriculture? ACC will be at the 2012 Manitoba Ag Days on January 17, 18 and 19 taking place at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, MB. Come find us at booth #212 in the U.C.T. Pavilion and learn more about our agriculture and environment related programs. We’ll also be participating in the Agriculture in the Classroom Adventure with grades 7 and 8 students as they learn more about the agriculture industry.
