Although we are not actively recruiting international students, we do have a small population of international students studying with us. While special services to our international students are limited, our size and approachability make it easy to communicate with instructors, fellow students and the Student Services Centre. The experience at our college will appeal to international students who are independent and interested in getting to know Canadians and experience Canadian culture.
Most of our programs start only once per year, in September. The only two available programs with a January intake are only 4 or 6 months long and do not qualify for work permits, so do not usually meet the needs of international students. Please see our list of Available Programs.
Because of the low number of international students, we do not have an International Students’ Association, or orientation and airport pick-up programs. We also do not have a residence for students (although some of our students live at the Brandon University residence, approximately three km away).
Most of our regular services for students are also available for international students, including:
- Tutoring
- Learning skills workshops
- Personal supports
- Housing information
In addition, we can provide information on study and work permit applications and processes, and information to assist you in getting settled in Brandon.
